Hong Kong’s popular singer, Frances Yip (葉麗儀), achieved international success during the 1980s-1990s. Known for the Cantopop music genre and other English pop music, she rose to fame with the recording of the song Shanghai Beach (上海灘) in 1980. This is also the theme song to the classic 1980 TV drama series of the same name.
Frances is still actively performing in concerts today. We pay tribute to her enduring music career with this beautiful graphic design available on a premium unisex T-shirt. The Shanghai Beach Chinese lyric is displayed on the design: “又有喜 又有愁”, which translates to “There is joy and sorrow”.
