Tentacles is a classic example of a B-movie that aspires to A-list status. Director Ovidio G. Assonitis assembles an impressive cast, including John Huston and Shelley Winters, but the film ultimately succumbs to its own absurdity. The plot, a familiar tale of a monstrous sea creature terrorizing a coastal community, is executed with a certain campy charm. While the special effects are undeniably dated, they contribute to the film’s overall kitschy appeal. It’s a guilty pleasure that, despite its flaws, remains an entertaining relic of 1970s cinema.
