Morning Has Broken is a 1931 Christian hymn composed in the Scottish Islands. In 1957, English author Eleanor Farjeon gave this beautiful tune words and was known as “A Morning Song (For the First Day of Spring)”.
In 1971, English singer/songwriter Cat Stevens recorded this tune and it became so popular that it was closely identified with him. The song reached number 6 on the U.S. Billboard 100.
